HOPS - Helping Other People Survive |
| We are very pleased to invite Kay O’Reilly, one of the founders of a recently launched Northampton based charity, to introduce HOPS to you all. At iimia we work with a lot of charities on their financial planning and investment management whilst also raising money for them through sponsored walks and other events. Many of you have helped us support charities over the years, for which we thank you. HOPS is one of our Northampton office’s charities of choice for 2010. |
| Kay says “The HOPS charity was established to raise funds for other small local Northamptonshire charities that receive little in the way of grants and depend heavily on donations to fund their activities. HOPS was registered with the Charity Commission in July 2009. The Board of Trustees and main founders of the charity are the Directors of ACS Office Solutions and Cube Partners Limited, Chartered Accountants. |
| The trustees believe that if local people and businesses get together to raise funds we can do a lot of good for our local needing charities. Our choice of charities to sponsor concurs with our stated aims of helping those in need, supporting the community and providing support to carers etc. |
The current charities we are supporting are:
Kidsaid, who provide therapeutic support for children and young people who have suffered any form of emotional trauma, including bereavement, bullying, family breakdown, domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse.
Northampton Door to Door Service, who provide transport services for the disabled and elderly and their carers.
Autism Concern, who provide support for sufferers and carers of sufferers of autism.
We hold events and raffles to raise funds, and receive donations from local businesses (like iimia Wealth Management) and individuals. Details of all past and future events can be found on the HOPS website: www.hops-events.co.uk. The next event is a Christmas Networking Party at the Picturedrome in Northampton on Wednesday 9th December. Tickets cost £10 each, with all funds going directly to the charity”. |
How can you help?
1 Direct donation to the charity (cheques made payable to HOPS or bank details available on their website). 2 Attend some of their events. 3 Organise your own events to raise funds. |
